WordPress has emerged as the most popular and most-used Content Management System in the world. WordPress is used by The New York Times, CNN, Forbes, Reuters, and Fortune 500 companies such as GM, UPS, eBay, Sony and Volkswagen. It is the best Content Management System out there, is extremely user-friendly, constantly updated with new features, and provides you a great foundation on which to build a website. It can handle small websites with only a few pages, or websites with thousands of pages of content. You can update everything yourself with absolutely no knowledge of HTML. WordPress is extremely user friendly and you’ll pick it up very quickly.
The Admin screens for your website are password protected. You will have a login username and password for your site that is unique just to you.
To edit a page, you go to Pages (or Posts for blog posts) and will see a list of all your pages or blog posts. To edit one, you click on the title.
Each page has a block of content where you type or copy and paste your content. Content can be formatted just like Microsoft Word using the same icons with which you are familiar. Images and documents can be added, tables created, slideshows inserted, etc.
Your media library allows you to upload photos, add captions, align them (left, right and center). You can also upload graphics like logos, PDF documents for download and more.
Add as many Admin users as you like and give them different roles. You can limit the pages or posts certain people can see and edit, too.
There are thousands of WordPress plugins, each with specific functionality. Calendars, photo galleries, slideshows, custom fields, SEO, member management, ad management, contact forms, newsletter signups, social media links and more are available to install with WordPress. WordPress.org/plugins has a huge Plugin Directory and installation is simple.
